ALMOST WALKING + COLD REMEDIES

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Hey guys! I can't believe how close this babe is to walking on her own! She insists on standing alllll the time even when she's playing with toys. She gets the biggest grin on her face when I help her walk around the house! Probably time for her to start wearing shoes...

Anyways, just a quick post today to share some of our favorite cold remedies. People always seem to get sick or have allergy flare ups when the seasons change. Last weekend Olive came down with her first cold and I immediately started giving her Hylands Tiny Cold Tablets. I am a big believer in homeopathic care and love all the Hyland's products. If you are really good about remembering to give the doses every 4 hours (or as directed) they really do work. I gave the tablets to her during the night too since we were up nursing a little extra because of her cold. She was well in 3 days!! One quick tip to the mommies out there: when I first started giving the tablets to Olive I was trying to stick them in her mouth for her and she would spit them out before they even had a chance to dissolve. If I hold the tablets between my fingers so she can see them, she opens her mouth for me like I'm feeding her and I can stick them right in.

Isaac and I both take the Hyland's 4 Kids Cold 'n Cough when we get sick (safe for breastfeeding mommas). There is adult dosage listed on the box. Again, if you take it consistently you'll see results. Isaac was well in a 3 days and I took it for 1 day when I felt like I was coming down with something and I didn't need to take any the next day. We love this stuff!

Isaac also gets really bad allergies around this time of year and we have tried a bunch of natural remedies but never tried using a neti pot. My brother sold him on the idea one night and we ordered this one the next day! I am not brave enough to use it (yet?) but Isaac has been using it frequently and hasn't had an allergy attack since! If you have weekly (or daily!) allergy attacks you might want to give it a try. =)

Hope you are having a beautiful week! xoxo Christine
