EXPLORING ANTLER HILL VILLAGE AT THE BILTMORE ESTATE

I thought it would be fun to plan a trip to Asheville while the leaves were changing so this past weekend we drove up and, my goodness, it was beautiful! A perfect 60 degree day, too! We always try to stop in at Posana when we're in Asheville because there is really not a bad thing on their whole menu and it's all gluten free. I purposely didn't book any timed events for the whole day so we could take our time and enjoy whatever we were doing for however long we wanted - I think I'll do that more often!

After brunch we drove over to Antler Hill Village which is located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. I've been to the house a few times but not to Antler Hill Village - it's a fun little area buzzing with activity. We looked in at the farmyard (I love horses, but the smell of the farmyard has convinced me I am not cut out for the farm life. I will stick to fruits, veggies and flower beds!), the playground and then walked up the hill to rent a couple bikes. We did an hour long ride along the French Broad River toward the lagoon where you can see the back of the Estate reflected in the water. It was breathtaking! Everyone we saw out walking or riding was so friendly, it felt like we were in a neighborhood and not at all touristy. We talked about visiting again in the spring around our anniversary and doing it all over again. =)
